March 6, day 46

What an absolutely lovely day! Got up early as usual and had breakfast watching the sun come up over the bridge. Beautiful! Got organized then took off on my own. I left Bill at home recuperating. I feel so badly about the facetious comment I made yesterday about Bill hobbling on our walk!......he is hurting today and his leg muscle is hard as a rock and sore. Oh oh, better be nice to him, or that dotage comment will be out the window!!

Was the first time since we have been away that I have gone exploring on my own. Was nice, although I did miss the invalid.;). It is his birthday on Friday so had to do some reconnaissance for a gift. Found a good one! Won't tell you what because he does read this blog....

Drove around 'the island'. Still can't find anyone to tell me if this island has a name...everyone just calls it the island. I think it is Havasu Island, but am only guessing....well drove around it. We had been told that you can walk around it in an hour. I don't think so. It don't know if I would want to. I thought the walkway would travel all around the water as it does where we live, but the walkway is inland so you can't see the water for the most part and it is a hot desert. Not really a fun walk for me, but know we will do it anyway eventually. Will report back on that one.

Met my neighbour today and chatted across the deck for a long time, June and Harry. Havn't met Harry, but Bill has. Very nice couple. Found out lots of local lore and rumours. Fun visit. Now I have something to tell Harold...you reading this Harold? June told me that during spring break, it is lots of fun to watch the activity on the water. It is like maradi gras in New Orleans only in boats instead of the street!... and the girls wear beads instead of tops! People drop the beads from the bridge down to the girls and they catch them and derobe and put them on!!., not for the feint of heart! June says you see a lot of binoculars come out of hibernation! You left too soon Harold! Will take pics and send them on.....only if they are not x-rated!!!

Don't know when spring break is when all the activity starts across the way. It has been so quiet here, can't imagine it busy. June says it is really interesting and a great place to be to people watch.

Spent the afternoon Working on some more hats. Sure wish I had my wonderful pins from home! Hope I can get hats there as well, will have to go on the hunt! Will send on a few more pics.

Karin, hope your sabbatical was a good one...been thinking of you.

Steph, have a good trip up to see Marsha. Give her a hug from me!

Sure miss my walkie friends...thinking of you all and can't wait to catch up. Want to find out what wonderous things you are creating at Anna's!

Miss Downton Abbey, but am still really angry with them!
